“Following a situation we had on one of our projects, we called Alpha as we felt that the situation required experts from the start. The Client had taken back the keys but after advice we wrote claiming the Contract had been repudiated. Several months later and despite the Client engaging lawyers, experts and a QC, CIC won the adjudication in full, the Client had repudiated the Contract. Without Alpha’s experience and support, CIC would never have got to this position and I cannot recommend them highly enough.“

“Just a brief note to say thank you for your involvement in dealing with a difficult M and E sub-contractor loss and expense claim and final account. The experience and knowledge of Alpha without doubt assisted Quinn in cutting through and amicably agreeing the final account which in turn assisted us in concluding the final account negotiations upstream with our Client. Much appreciated.“
Andy Williams, Operations Director at Quinn Ltd
Martin Tidd of Alpha came to my offices for a day, reviewed my accounts, my cashflow assumptions and reviewed all my individual contracts and their financial performance. He then sat with me reviewed his findings and pushed myself and my accounts staff for answers to his questions. It quickly became apparent we had a rogue contract where the main contractor was not fairly valuing the works, underpaying both the measure and variation account, and not recognising the delay and disruption they were causing to our works.
Alpha through co director Neil Sammes reviewed the Subcontract and interim valuation process in detail. We were being denied significant sums of money properly due. Meetings were held with the Main Contractor both on site and at their Offices. Ultimately, we were paid our contract sum, a fair valuation of our variation account, Acceleration and Loss and Expense.
The effect of this was that our contract sum of £198,000 was finalised at £490,000. Our cashflow immediately resolved and we returned a net profit on the project.
Without the involvement of Alpha, it is unlikely my business would have survived. We are now in a great position, and I rely on Alpha proactively to provide contract and business advise on a regular basis to avoid issues before they become a problem.
I have since recommended them to other Contractors I know that have experienced difficulties with contract matters or with difficulties getting paid.”

“I ran a Carpentry & Joinery business as a Partnership for over 30 years. In May 2020 I agreed to terminate my role in the business and take early retirement. Unfortunately, the terms of the simple termination agreement were not upheld. I asked Alpha Consultant Services for their advice. They quickly reviewed all the information available including the agreement, bank statements and other evidence and promptly identified what sums were owed to me.
However, there was no agreement from my business partner, and he engaged lawyers that entrenched his position. Martin Tidd dealt directly with the lawyers and agreed Mediation as the right course of action. Martin led the process and assisted me every step of the way. Ultimately, we agreed a mutually acceptable settlement that ironically was no different to the figure Martin suggested was the sum due at the start of the dispute. Martin then assisted in correcting the partnership returns wrongly filed using his own Chartered Accountancy contact.
This was a very stressful period for me, and I am extremely grateful for the way Martin dealt with all matters and how he explained everything in layman’s terms for me and assisted from start to finish. I have recommended him to other people I know that have disputes affecting their business and personal lives.”
